In addition to those already elected without opposition, Mr. Thos. L. Loftus, U. D. C., was returned as a member of the Mayo county council. Mr. Chas. Daly, D. C., who was nominated against him, having withdrawn. Mr. Charles Curren withdrew his nomination for the Urlaur division, and the returning officer accordingly declared the sitting member, Mr. John J. Harrison, Kilkelly, elected. Four of the five candidates in Swinford withdrew, thus leaving the sitting member, Mr. Thomas Morrin, J. P., representative of the division.
