RAN HIS CAR WITH AN OPEN MUFFLER

In a big six-cylinder touring car, Armour Ferguson, son of a prominent New York lawyer living on Long Island, came to town yesterday to take the Yale entrance examinations for the Academic school, but before he had reached the college Bicycle Officer James J. Deegan arrested him for running the car with the muffler open and brought him to police headquarters where the youth gave his machine into the keeping of Sergt. Doherty to guarantee his appearance in court this morning. He appeared in court this morning but when his case was called he could not be found and it was discovered that he had gone up to the college to take an exam. His case was then continued until tomorrow.

His auto, which is a huge one and of luxurious build, is still in the rear of police headquarters and will be kept there until the case against young Ferguson is disposed of.
