Full Text

Extract of a letter from Dublin, April 23.

"Nothing but calamity is before us it is supposed war will soon be declared against America by the crowned heads that are now against France. This may be only a supposition of the people, and yet it seems more than probable it will be the case. It appears in a little time emigration must be stopped, or I believe half of the people would go to America. Last week when I was in Belfast, no less than five failures took place one of them for 50,000l. a cotton manufacturing company. This one failure has thrown 300 men out of employ."
