LONDON— A priest here has refused to disclose whether he heard the last confession of a Londoner hanged four years ago for a murder he may not have committed.

A sensation was caused in a recent parliamentary debate on capital punishment here when the home secretary at the time, Chuter Ede, who was responsible for the final decision on Evans' execution, admitted a mistake was probably made.
