WOMAN GRANTED PROBATION
LOS ANGELES, April 10.

Seven years' probation was granted to Mrs. Lillian J. McAlpine, Long Beach oil operator, when she appeared before Superior Judge Hardy for sentence on a grand theft conviction.

A condition of the probation was that Mrs. McAlpine make restitution of $750 to Mrs. Jane M. Agan, of Long Beach, the complaining witness, who charged she lost the money by investing in an oil promotion of Mrs. McAlpine's.

Mrs. McAlpine awaits retrial on April 22 on a charge of labor theft. She was granted a new trial by Judge Burnell on trial errors when the jury found her guilty.
