Shot Himself for Love.
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 17. - W. E. Stauffer, a well dressed, good looking man of about 24 years, engaged a room at Dooner's hotel last evening, and five minutes afterwards shot himself in the left breast with a revolver. Stauffer registered from Ashland, O. A physician was summoned, and the young man was removed to the Jefferson hospital, where little hope of his recovery is entertained. Stauffer, who retained consciousness after the shooting, said that his act was the result of a love affair.
