Donation From Mr. Rouss.
The Rouss Hook and Ladder Company have received another substantial check from their honored friend and Winchester's benefactor, Charles Broadway Rouss. Several members of the company were reticent when a News Item reporter endeavored to interview them concerning the matter, but after persistent questioning it was ascertained that Mr. Rouss had again remembered the company that bears his name. This last remembrance came as a complete surprise to them but at this time is most acceptable as a New Year's nest egg for the treasury. The other fire organizations know little of the secret work-ings of this comparatively young but more than able organization, which each year is making rapid forward strides. Winchester News.
