Fairbanks Seeking Housing Authority Loan for 100 Units

FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Sept. 20.- City Council members approved an ordinance yesterday requesting a Public Housing Authority loan for construction of low rental units.

Harold Byrd, Alaska Housing Authority commissioner for the Fourth District, said the Alaska Authority would be given an immediate loan of $40,000 to conduct a survey, obtain sites, plan the project and determine the nature of families to be considered eligible for residence.

Additional monies will be received to cover cost of the planned construction.
