Increases State Income

The new census enumeration has resulted in changing local apportionment of saloons in several license communities of Vermont, with Rutland leading in the largest acquisition. Rutland's gain in population over the census of 1900 gives that city fourteen licenses, a gain of three, while Burlington and Montpelier get an additional license, Bennington and St. Albans gain, inasmuch as a license is granted for every thousand of population or major fraction thereof. If Barre's vote on local option had changed by two votes against no license, the city would have had three additional licenses-Barre Times.
