Westward Ho! Train of the C. & M. Railroad

which arrived on Sunday evening, brought down over
250 emigrants, bound for the Territory of Kansas.
They are from the land of "steady habits,"
and are as fine a looking body of men as we have ever
seen. They have with them their wives and children.
All trades, professions and occupations are represented
among them, and they intend making a colony and
laying the foundation of a future city by themselves.
They are just the kind of people now wanted over the
Missouri line, and will contribute their influence to
make Kansas what we trust it will be, a free State.
