Daily Prayer
FOR TRANQUIL HEARTS
We seek the light of Thy face, O Lord, for Thy favor is peace. Enable us to await in tranquility and with unflagging devotion of activity, the fulfillment of Thy purposes in this war; until Right is crowned by Victory; and our boys return to us again, bringing the joy of hopes fulfilled for us and for all of waiting, woe-smitten mankind. Deliver us from fret and fear in the deep consciousness that Thou hast not abdicated Thy throne, still overruling all events. We would have calm confidence, too, but that Thou art a present Lord, in our Government, to whom Thou hast given authority. Save us from the blight of critical-mindedness. In loyalty and patience like that of our fighting men, we would carry on stout-heartedly, and in reverent trust in Thee. Amen.-W.T.E.
