CITY WILL GET
$132,627 CHECK
FOR JOB RELIEF

Dr. John W. Mudroch, city treasurer, will soon receive a check for $132,627 representing 25 per cent of the city's disbursement for unemployment relief in 1931 as a result of the decision of Wisconsin State Industrial commission approving Milwaukee's "made work" program, Fred M. Wilcox, commission chairman, announced yesterday.

At a hearing held yesterday in the commission's offices, 744 North Fourth st., it was pointed out that the city spent $527,000 last year on made work.

A recent ruling of the state supreme court allows cities a refund of 25 per cent where the program meets with the approval of the state industrial commission.

A new program of emergency work employing men on 10-day shifts will be started as soon as the check is received from the state treasury, it was announced.
