Full Text

First Snow of the Season.

Saratoga people were greeted this morning by the first snow that has fallen in the valley this fall. The ground was covered with a thin sheet of the moisture, which melted fast, being practically all gone by 10 o'clock.

The snow was welcomed by local deer hunters, as the hunting conditions in the mountains adjacent to the valley have been unfavorable so far owing to there being no snow for tracking, and the forest has been so dry that it was hardly possible to travel through the timber quietly. However, the next few days should be good hunting weather, as a liberal amount of snow has covered the mountains.
