The ministers and their families of the Atlanta East District gathered in the quite informal and warm fellowship at the home of the Rev and Mrs. H L Burney, 77 Anderson Avenue Wednesday evening, July 4. The members of the district were graciously entertained in the attractive first level of the Burney's home.
Deliciously seasoned barbecue, cole slaw, cold drinks and other delicacies, prepared by Miss Clementine and Gloria Burney and T R. Wilson was served.
Rev. S. T. Huff, pastor of the Georgia Oliver Methodist Church voiced the sentiment of the district and a loud round of applause was the response.
Among the guests were Bishop and Mrs. J. W. E. Bowen. Rev. and Mrs A. S. Dickerson. Rev. L S Allen, Mrs. C. S. Stinson and Rev. Carl Crowder and many others
Everyone took part in one or more of the many games and the evening ended on a high note of pleasure.
