Full Text

The State Indebtedness.—The Sacramento Union (Supplement) contains extracts from thirty-two different papers as expressive of the sentiments of the people of California regarding the question of repudiation of the State indebtedness. Out of the whole number, but one, the Sacramento Times, seems to entertain the opinion that our people will so far disgrace the State as to repudiate the debts, and that nigger-worshiping sheet dared to insult this people by expressing the pitiful opinion that "It is two, and more to one that they vote, by a large majority, not to pay the bonds; and for good and sufficient reasons." allied to a party whose motto is "Let the Union slide." such a monstrous idea, uttered through the columns of that Black Republican organ, is in keeping with the principles of the party of which it is a mouth-piece. We believe the repudiators to be as greatly in the minority in California as were the Union sliders at the last election.
