Needs of Tuskegee

Robert W. Taylor, professor of mathematics at the Tuskegee, Ala., Normal and Industrial Institute, spoke yesterday at the First Unitarian Church and at the Church of the Unity, on the needs of the institution. The college, of which Booker T. Washington is the head, is making a special effort to reach the negroes of the country, as the State of Alabama provides only one thirty-fifth as much for country schools as for those in the cities. The graduates of Tuskegee are being sent into the country to teach, and Prof. Taylor is soliciting aid for carrying on this work.
