Cemetery Rejection A Fine Move

The refusal to rezone a Westside area for erection of a cemetery between two residential communities is a commendable action on the part of the Board of Aldermen's Zoning Committee, and will be appreciated by the great majority of Atlanta citizens.
Many citizens had protested the action, believing the graveyard would serve as a buffer zone between racial communities.
There is no way of ascertaining whether this is true, but one thing is certain: Land must be utilized for the best possible purpose for the citizens of a city. Certainly a cemetery is not the best use to which this land could be used when other things are so badly needed by our people.
Again we commend the Zoning Committee of the Board of Aldermen.
