Stockholm, Sweden-By decision of the Academy of Sciences the Nobel prize for physics for 1927 will be divided between Professor Arthur Compton of Chicago. and Professor Charles T. R. Wilson of Cambridge university.
Professor Compton, whose researches have been devoted largely to the X. ray and radio activity, receives the award for the discovery of the Compton process. Professor Arthur Compton of the University of Chicago, was on the teaching staff of the University of Minnesota in 1917 and 1918, first as an instructor and later as assistant professor of physics.
