A Fine Bold-Faced Villain.-An adroit scamp lately succeeded in passing himself upon the Hon. H. Clay as a brother of Speaker Winthrop: and in that character accompanied him to Ashland, where he was introduced to a number of Mr. C's particular friends, from whom he succeeded in borrowing sundry sums of money, and then vamosed. Had the subject of this trick been an ordinary person, it would have excited little surprise : but being H Clay, a veteran judge of human nature in all its phases, it certainly argues no small share of address in the operator. He bids fair, we think, to attain to a high eminence in his profession, if not prematurely checked in his career.
