SARATOGA, June 27.—The convention of the State League of Republican clubs will be held here in the new convention hall beginning today. The Queens county League has quarters for 100 men at the American hotel. Monroe county has more than forty clubs in its League, and they are all "minute men."
They will make a fine showing. The Rochester clubs have come to the convention in strong numbers. Mayor Green brings a large delegation from that city and from Broome county, and from other sections of the state the attendance will be large.
The two Saratoga clubs have made excellent arrangements for receiving the delegations. The local committees are as follows:
Reception—William A. Pierson, John W. Howe.
Finance—The Hon. H. S. Clement, General W. B. French, J. J. Wandall.
Printing—Colonel D. F. Ritchie, William W. Smith, J. M. Ostrander, J. W. Howe, Egbert L. Price.
Music—W. Worden, C. C. Lesler, W. H. Bockes.
Hall and Decorations—Colonel George P. Lewton, Colonel Judson A. Lewis, R. Newton Beezee, Dr. Amos C. Rich, F. M. Jenkins.
All the prominent speakers in the party will attend. E. A. McAlpin, president, will preside over the opening services today. John E. Hedges, secretary, is in charge of credentials.
