Last Saturday Night arrived here Capt. Tozar in 16 Days from St. John's in Newfoundland, and advises, That the Day before he sailed two Letters of Marque Ships arrived there from Bristol, in 43 Days, the Masters of whom informed him, That before they left Bristol, they received certain Accounts that Commodore Howe landed 5000 Troops at St. Maloes, and destroyed it, and that he had taken 137 Vessels, two of which were Men of War, forty Privateers from 20 to 40 Guns, and burnt a 50 Gun Ship and a Frigate that were on the stocks; and the Commodore and Troops under him had re-embarked and joined the grand Fleet under Admiral Anson in order, 'tis imagined, to make a further Descent upon the Coast of France.

Capt. Tozar also informs, That Commodore Edwards, at St. John's, expressed his Joy with three Cheers upon receiving this important News.

A sloop from Antigua in 21 Days put in here last Night, the Master of which also brings an Account of the above Affair.
