GET FUNDS TO BUILD THE RANGE

Company A Is Given Allowance, But Must Pay for Rental of Site from Its Own Treasury.

Captain Ed Dunavin of Company A has received a letter from the state authorities regarding the range which the state inspector of rifle practice inspected about a month ago. The letter gives notice of an appropriation sufficient to build the rifle pit and the target abutment. The company will have to pay for the rental of the ground for the range from its own funds. While the proposition is not as favorable as was hoped for, it is believed it is the best that the company can secure and the officers are in favor of acting at once.

The new guns for the company will arrive some time this month, according to information sent out by the adjutant general. The new rifles are of the latest type and are the same as the regular army equipment.
