JUDGE WHITSON VERY ILL

Stricken by partial paralysis at an early hour this morning, United States Judge Edward Whitson this afternoon lies at his home, 204 Tenth avenue, with his entire right side paralyzed and unable to speak, even though apparently in full possession of all his mental faculties.

The judge was found lying on the floor of his room by Mrs. Whitson at 7:15 this morning, just as the family was gathering for breakfast, and at once called Dr. George A. Rohrer, who pronounced the jurist's condition grave.

The affliction comes from a blood clot which has formed on the left side of the brain, affecting the motor nerves of the right side, but not influencing the center of consciousness.
