According to private letters from Petersburg, the court seems to be more and more embarrassed by the Turkish minister, who having been very inquisitive as to the real motives of the confederacy against the King of Prussia, and receiving only general answers, remarked that the same spirit of policy which dictated the pulling down that Prince, and the seizing the kingdom of Prussia might naturally lead the confederates to turn their arms against the Porte, whenever they should find themselves strong enough to undertake such an enterprize.
