HELENA, Mont., Oct. 1.--On the suggestion of former Ambassador Gerard, during a recent visit here, the farmers defense club of Lewis and Clark county will appeal to an eastern tractor manufacturing company to furnish one machine for every 12 square acres of farming land in the country.
The request is based on the ground that Montana not only oversubscribed its Liberty loan quota, but furnished more men per capita, for the army, than any other state in the union.
