AMERICANIST CONGRESS
To Be Held At Quebec Will Be Largely Attended.

Quebec, Feb. 5. Correspondence received by the committee in charge of the local arrangements indicates that the International Congress of Americanists, which is to meet in this city next September, will be attended by men of learning from many parts of the world.

The work of the congress has reference to the native races of America, their origin, geographical distribution, history, physical characteristics, languages, civilization, mythology, religions, morals and habits, also to the indigenous monuments and the archaeology of America, and the history of the discovery and European occupancy of the new world.

The congress was founded at Nancy in 1875, and the coming session will be its fifteenth meeting. A series of receptions, entertainments, and excursions is being arranged for the members of the congress, to include, in all probability, a trip to Lake St. John, with a visit to a camp of the Montagnais Indians.
