Full Text

The extreme Cold of last week rendered the Inn a place of much more resort than the Sanctuary; reminding many, of the good old Saint's Advice of a generous Glass--though partially, not literally taken--as, instead of pure Wine, simply to cheer the heart, copious draughts of liquid Fire was substituted, to fortify the stomach--Sir Richard the more exposed his Votaries to the rude Blast, and not a few, whether inwardly prepared or not, were severely bitten--Mr. John W. Johnson, of this town, was badly frozen in his feet and hands;--his left hand, it is feared, must be amputated.
