The Election.—Since our last we have received returns from all the towns in the state. The vote stands as follows:
Wolcott 14,298
Smith 13,452
Scattering 169
Majority of Wolcott, 672
The whole number of votes given were 27,914—Last year there were 10,281 votes given for Wolcott, 11,434 for Smith, giving Smith a majority over Wolcott of 1,153. The votes of this year exceed those of last by near 6,000, and they exceed the votes ever given before in the state, by near 5,000!
