Full Text

The result of the negotiation between the Emperor and the Dutch is a matter of doubt as ever. There are not, by the best accounts we have, such vigorous preparations making on either side as to appear decisive for war: and yet we hear of enough to prevent too sanguine hopes of a peace. The advice by the last mail have contributed nothing to clear up the uncertainty.--They clash so much with each other, that the writers of them seem to be as much in the dark, as to the true state of things, as we are ourselves. We must, therefore, wait a little longer for the development of time, that great revealer of secrets.
