July 23. According to private letters from Brussels, it is not easy to conceive the confusion of any Court to be greater than that of Versailles at present. Some great ministers disgraced, and several to whom great places have been offered, declining to accept. Twelve Officers of Rank sent in one week to the Bastile. Abundance of strange Reports flying about; and amongst the rest, that the count de Clermont was betrayed by somebody at Crevelt, as marshal d'Etrees was at Hastenbeck by the count de Maillebois.
