False - Swearing Blamed Upon Ann Dalton

Mrs. Annie Dalton was lodged in Fulton Tower following an indictment returned against her charging false swearing, and her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Smith, followed her to The "Big Rock" jail after the Fulton grand jury indicted her on a charge of attempting to swindle the power company.

Bonds were set at $1,000 and $500, respectively.

The indictments returned by the jury were the result of a lengthy investigation here to prosecute a family believed the center of a fake claim racket.

It is believed one member of the family filed fake damage charges against some business enterprise and other members appeared as witnesses.
