Defeat of the Regency.—The Regency have sustained an overthrow in Albany, the Rome of their power. The following is from the Daily Advertiser of the 29th Sept.

CHARTER ELECTION.

The election for charter officers was held yesterday, and the result is a complete triumph for the Working Men. They have prevailed in the 1st, 3d and 5th wards, and have carried their ticket for assistants in the 4th ward.

This gives the Workingmen a majority of 8 in the common council. The city is revolutionized in a shorter time than was Paris, and with no bloodshed!

The workingmen can say, with Cæsar—"Veni, Vidi, Vici."
