Arriving Saturday by Pan American, G. Edgar Vaughan, British Consul for the four northwestern states and Alaska, will be in Juneau until Thursday when he leaves for Kodiak.
"Anyone," Mr. Vaughan said today, "who wants information on Great Britain or has inquiries on consular business can contact me at the Baranof. My trip to Alaska is rather in the line of a goodwill trip since Great Britain and the U. S. are so close."
The Consul would like to have people from Great Britain visit this country, he said, and is renewing acquaintances here. He is calling on the Governor's office and other officials while here.
Tomorrow Mr. Vaughan speaks at the Rotary luncheon at the Baranof.
From here, Mr. Vaughan goes to Kodiak on Thursday via Pacific Northern Airlines and will be there for several days. He will also be in Anchorage and Fairbanks before returning to Seattle.
Mr. Vaughan served as Vice-Consul at Hamburg in 1931, at La Paz, Bolivia, 1932-1935, Barcelona, Spain, 1935-38, Buenos Aires, 1938-1944. From 1945-1946 he was Consul and Charge d'Affairs in Monrovia, Liberia and since then has been stationed in Seattle.
