CANAAN.

March 5.-Aaron Johnson's wife and baby are staying at the Canaan House. James Weeks of New York is at home on a short visit. Rev. Mr. David preached in exchange with Rev. J. Wesley on Sunday last. There will be a social at the M. E. Church on Wednesday next. Henry Smith and wife have moved into Mr. Elliott's house. Mr. Elliott's daughters returned to Massachusetts last Tuesday. Eugene Chase's little baby is very sick. A great many are sick with colds. Ed Green is confined to the house. Jere Keysar was in town the first of the week. Rev. E. K. Wilson will hold services at 7 p. m., in the G. A. R. Hall on Sunday next. E. D. Ramsay and wife of Vergennes were visiting friends in town the past week. Call at Schoff's if you need anything in his line. He can satisfy you both in goods and price.
