Owner Wanted for a Medal -- A few days since, Mr. John E. Kohler, at 715 Broad street, bought from a negro man a large silver medal. Inscribed, "Animis, opibusque parati -- Dulce et decorum -- South Carolina -- To the Palmetto Regiment -- Dickinson, Butler, Gladden," and bearing a palmette tree, with two shields and the dates 1846 and 1847. The reverse bears, "Vera Cruz, Contreras, Churubusco, Chapultepec, Garita de Belen, and a design representing the landing at Vera Cruz." The medal has on it the name of "Sergeant Sampson E. Nanoe." Mr. Kohler will keep it subject to the call of the owner.
