By an arrival at New-York, papers from Havre to the 15th of November have been received. The papers give details of the successes of the Greeks, and a signal defeat of the Turks before Missolonghi. Great allowances are, however, to be made for the colourings they receive from the channels through which they come.

A steam-boat has left England for Greece.

Ibrahim Pacha has been beaten in an engagement at Pentalopa, and was on his way to regain the western valley of Laconia, harassed by Colocotroni, who had attacked him again with effect at Vasilopotamon. The Egyptian garrison in Trippolitza are closely shut up.

Extract of a private letter of Sept. 30, from Zante. "Reschid Pacha, not being discouraged by the fruitless assaults which he had made upon Missolonghi, and stimulated by the orders of the Grand Seignior, who said, "Missolonghi or thy head," commenced a terrible attack upon that place about eight days ago. A breach was opened in the fortress, troops rushed in and made themselves masters of two bastions, which the Greeks threw aside their muskets, and falling sword in hand upon the assailants, routed and put them to flight. The Pacha, after this defeat, caused a fortification to be raised in earth, and upon it he established five pieces of cannon of heavy calibre, with which he battered the interior of the fortress. The Christians being unable to silence their fire, conceived the project of burying the Turks in their batteries. They contrived a mine, and the works were so skilfully conducted that not one of the barbarians escaped the explosion. This disaster determined Reschid Pacha to retreat to Hypochori, upon the Evenus. Ibrahim Pacha, after having left a garrison at Tripolitza, marched upon Mistré, where he burnt two houses and some churches. Proceeding afterwards upon Bardonnica he was stopped by the Greeks, who were entrenched in some towers with a draw bridge. He was making preparations for a siege, when the Hellenist army, under Colocotroni and other Captains, came up and attacked him. The action was brisk, and the Pacha, being unable to make either his cavalry or his troops of the line manœuvre in the crags of the woody mountains, was compelled to retreat, after having lost 1200 men. He retired into a country adjacent to Monembasia, called Pente Alonia, where he is closely pressed by the Greeks. M. Regnault de St. Jean d'Angley (son of the Minister of State under the Empire) continues at Napoli the organization of a corps of cavalry: Colonel Fabvier is training the troops à l'Europeenne; artillery officers teach the Greek cannon to manœuvre; and every thing is in preparation for a sixth campaign.

The Egyptian army, under the command of Gen. Boyer, consists of 24,000. They are said to be under admirable discipline on the European system, and manœuvred with great skill in the desert four leagues from Cairo, where they were encamped.

The editor of the Advertiser gives the following translation from the Oriental Spectator, of Oct. 29.

The Greek fleet is cruising in the waters of Candia, and also on the shores of the Peloponnesus, waiting for the expedition from Egypt. Hydra is on her guard, and has been well fortified. A considerable body of Romeliots have been taken into service for her by the Greeks.
