July 10. By the Courier Francois of this morning, it appears, that Ferrand, one of the members of the Convention, having opposed the extraordinary demand of the people in the Hall, was instantly killed, his head placed on a pike, and planted before the President: another member who followed his example, was wounded by a pistol: the Convention being obliged to submit to force, decreed all the articles of the petition—but the National Guards having assembled, put the seditions to flight—arrested thirty of the principal chiefs, among them fourteen members of the Convention, who are to be tried on the spot (sur le champ).—Tranquility was restored—and the Convention had annulled all the decrees which had been extorted.
