PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 14.

EARTHQUAKE.

On Thursday last, exactly at midnight, a Sharp, but short Shock of an Earthquake was felt in this city. It resembled to the senses the sudden and complete falling of an immense building at half a mile distance. It was apprehended for a moment that the large pile of buildings South West of this city, called the Barracks, had blown down. The night was beautifully serene, and the sky unclouded. These were the impressions of the writer of this article. On the river we are informed that the shock was much more sensible and strong, than we experienced it.
