ON THE STAND
Somerville, N. J., Nov. 30, (AP)— Mrs. Frances Hall, the widow of Rev. Hall who was murdered with his choir singer, Mrs. Eleanor Mills September 14, 1922, testified for four hours yesterday, denying any knowledge of the slaying. Frances entered the court smiling. her relatives greeted her warmly, Mrs. Hall's brother Willie, extended the usual morning handshaking to the court officer and stenographers, Mrs. Hall was dressed in black and walked briskly to the stand. After being sworn, Special Deputy Attorney General Simpson asked Mrs. Hall, "Let me ask you again can you tell why you put your husband and Mrs. Mills together early in the morning after he failed to come home, and why you said to Middlesex County authorities they were absent and feared some harm has come to them." She replied "I could think of nothing else," Frances smiled and replied: "The last person knew of his having seen was Mrs. Mills, he told me he was going to see her about the hospital bill, went to the Mills house to see if they knew where he had gone, and then learned that Mrs. Mills was also missing."
