London, Oct. 14. Letters from Minehead, in the County of Somerset, inform us, that there happen'd a long and warm Debate there, between a worthy neighbouring Clergyman, and Two itinerant Quaker Speakers, in the publick Meeting-House, before a very numerous Audience. The Clergyman, with great Learning and Eloquence, proved several Principles in their Scheme of Religion, to be perfectly absurd and entirely repugnant to the Evangelical Dispensation. 'Tis observable that ever since, their Congregation has remarkably dwindled, and that many of their Society, especially the Females of the younger Sort, by coming to Church, confess the Power of his Arguments. 'Tis hop'd that so laudable an Undertaking will meet with proper Encouragement, and induce other Gentlemen of the Gown, to imitate so glorious an Example.
