Friday, July 15, 1932

BEJOU

Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Janssen and children autoed to Walker Sunday to visit Victor Janssen.

Mr. and Mrs. J. L. McKay of St. Paul, and Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Beaulieu of Beaulieu visited Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Janssen.

Mrs. Morris Tranholt and son Jack of Duluth are the guests of Mrs. Tranholt's father Mr. J. Jacobson.

Evelyn and Alfred Quady and Wallie Wolfe all of Robbinsdale visited friends and relatives around Bejou this week.

Mesdames Swerene, Stai, Berg and Thamert attended the Fair in Fertile Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Johnson and four children left Monday morning for their home in St. Charles after a couple of weeks visit with their mother and brother.

Mrs. R. Benson of McCloud, N. D. arrived in Bejou Monday and will visit friends for a few weeks.

Martin Erickson purchased a new Ford Coupe from Mahnomen this week.

Raymond, Lillian and Vivian Hallstrom autoed to Detroit Lakes Sunday where Miss Lillian met a party of friends and will remain for a week at the lakes.

Mrs. Andrew Osenga and children spent Tuesday at the Mrs. Peter Van der Plaats home.

Norman Holmvink and Martin Farrel are graveling west of Bejou.

Tom Egan, one time traveling agent for Detroit Mercantile visited Bejou friends Saturday.

Wilfred Hallstrom and a number of gentlemen friends attended the Fair in Fertile Saturday evening.

Mr. John Christianson autoed to Solway Sunday and helped move a family to Winger.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mittun and Florence and Jimmy of Foston were dinner guests at the John Folstrom home Sunday.

Mr. Ed Kittleson was a guest at the Christianson home Saturday evening. He left later for Detroit Lakes where he spent the week end with his family.

Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hillestad entertained a few friends Sunday in honor of their young son's birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Janssen attended the Fair in Ada and entered some of their chickens and received a number of premiums for their birds.

Mr. and Mrs. Casper Strom and children of Miles City, Mont. visited Bejou friends Monday. They are staying with Mrs. Strom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Severt Tranholt of Waukon. Mr. and Mrs. Strom left Bejou four and a half years ago. He is employed at a lumber yard in Miles City. They made the trip by auto. They report the crops as looking good out there.

Mr. B. Bement of Waubun visited at the Thamert home Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Miles Miller, John Unger and Jack Smith visited at the Holtorf home in Mahnomen Sunday.

Mr. Alfred Hallstrom has moved his hall over on the foundation where C. V. Lind's hardware store stood.

Mr. Solie and son Melvin of Winger, are moving the Swiers house now occupied by the Andrew Osenga family. Mr. Wm. Santjer is digging the basement.

Little Deloris Janssen had the misfortune to burn her face quite badly Saturday. It is healing nicely.

Miss Josie Scott had her arm cut very badly Sunday morning, she is carrying it in a sling.

A very large crowd attended the Catholic Ladies Aid at John Brtek's home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rauschke and Mrs. Korbel of Mahnomen were there also.

Miss Rose Brtek of Beaulieu spent Sunday with her folks.

Ray and Bill Hallstrom were Mahnomen callers Tuesday.

There will be a double-header played on the Bejou base ball diamond Sunday. Fertile will play one team and the paving crew will play another.

Russell Johnson of Waubun spent the week end with his mother Mrs. Betsy Johnson.

Mr. Wm. Santjer made a business trip to Fargo Monday.
