Champion Stowaway
Has Own Secretary
And Country Estate

NEW YORK, Oct. 17—Monsieur, or rather, Mister Mike Gilhooley, champion non-stop trans-Atlantic stowaway, left the hotel Vanderbilt today for his country residence at Milford, Conn., accompanied by Mrs. Marion Gilhooley Curry, his patroness and guardian.

Mike, who has heretofore been an extremely democratic and accessible young man, denied himself to reporters today. At the Vanderbilt early in the day an inquiry for Mike brought this reply from the manager:

“Mr. Gilhooley is not to be disturbed. He might consent to an interview later when he is thoroughly rested. Perhaps his secretary would take that matter up with him.”

Thus it was made clear, that Mike, whose life for the past few months has been rather strenuous, has now become a gentleman of leisure.
