Chinese forces in the first real offensive in their seven years of war, are advancing to bridge the 120 miles that separate them from Gen. Stilwell's units in northern Burma. Stilwell's forces have cut the main Moguang Valley Road. One thousand miles away in central China at Loyang, the main Japanese force of 100,000 with the aid of hundreds of tanks is overrunning all of northwestern Honan Province. Capture of Loyang would open the door to Siam, the natural gateway to Chungking. The 14th Army Air Force maintains air supremacy.
