The Militia Forces.—In response to a resolution of the senate, the secretary of war has transmitted to that body a statement showing the aggregate number of organized militia of the several states respectively, according to the latest returns received by the adjutant-general of the army. The returns show that the aggregate organized force of militia at the date of the last return was as follows in the states named: The aggregate of the figures above given is 89,968.
