PANACA MULE THIEVES ARRESTED IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CAL.—Readers will remember that, three or four weeks ago, a man named Laura Mulvahill had a span of mules stolen out of a pasture at Panaca by a Mormon boy—the boy taking them to Highland and there disposing of them. These mules were recovered by the owner; but while searching for them another span was stolen from him, out of the same pasture. About that time a couple of men arrived in Panaca from Southern California with two mules, which they sold, and suddenly disappeared. Mr. Mulvahill, believing these Californians had stolen his second span of mules, struck their trail and followed them into Los Angeles county, where he found his mules in their possession. He at once had the thieves arrested, and they are now in the Los Angeles county jail, awaiting a requisition from Governor Bradley to be returned here for trial. Mr. Mulvahill has had a long and expensive trip, and we think the County Commissioners ought to do something towards reimbursing him for his loss. In recovering his property, and capturing the thieves, he is out of pocket the value of one span of the two spans stolen, at least.
