The presentation of the tuneful operetta "Spring Glow" by the Hyder public school children in Pioneer Hall last Saturday evening was in many respects the most artistic and finished school entertainment ever witnessed in Hyder.

Excellent acting and singing by the juvenile performers, dainty and colorful costuming and artistic stage settings combined to make the performance one that will be long remembered by those who witnessed it.

Presenting a whimsical tale of the conquest of Winter's frosty minions by Spring and her train of gay companions, the youthful participants moved through a series of delightful song and dance ensembles with a grace and charm that won them rounds of enthusiastic applause from the appreciative audience.

At the conclusion of the performance Mrs. Whitford and her daughter expressed thanks and appreciation for kindnesses accorded them by Hyder residents during their stay in the community.
The performance was staged and directed by Miss Hortense Thomas, assisted by her mother, Mrs. Charlotte Whitford, teacher in charge of the school, and displayed a wealth of painstaking effort in the training of the young performers. Miss Thomas also contributed the piano accompaniments and interlude numbers. Following is the cast of characters: Jack Frost Billy Bigham. Frost Sprite Bobby Johnson. Spring Maiden Betty Blue. Pussy Willow Jackie Crozier. Breeze Harold Bushfield. Spring Marjorie Haddon. Sunshine Fairy Frances Sandford. Brownie Tommy Jadroe. Butterfly Lois Winger. Rain Drop Billy Blue.
