The late British papers contain epistolary information from Galicia. Letters from persons on board the British steam packet of Vigo, dated the 1st, 2d and 3d of August, state that Corunna was then closely invested by the French, and was daily expected to fall -- that the French occupied the heights commanding the town and killed the inhabitants in the efforts by the fire of their musketry -- that Sir Robert Wilson, whose wound was nearly healed, had engaged a small British schooner in the Newfoundland trade, to take himself and suite to Cadiz -- that the troops at Vigo could not be depended upon, eight hundred of those, who had been sent against Morillo, having gone over to him, &c.
