SERVING SENTENCE
Conrad Wolfle, mine promoter, commenced last week at McNeil Island penitentiary the service of a four year term of imprisonment for fraudulent use of the mails in connection with sales of stock in the local Cantu Mining Company.
Wolfle was indicted in 1929 but was not convicted until 1932, when he was brought to trial in Seattle. Several local witnesses appeared at the trial, which lasted six weeks. Following the Seattle trial, Wolfle, who is 62 years old, appealed the case, only to have the Supreme Court of Washington affirm his conviction a few days ago.
