ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Forty members of Michigan's 1961 football squad earned varsity letters and 32 others received reserve awards for their work during the season.
The awards were announced by Head Coach Bump Elliott following approval of Athletic Director Fritz Crisler and the Athletic Board.
Twenty members of the letter-winning group, or exactly half of it, are graduating seniors. By positions, seven tackles and seven ends received awards along with five guards, four centers, quarterbacks, and fullbacks, respectively, and nine halfbacks.
