Full Text

Postscript !!!

An express to the Governor arrived a little before 12 o'clock to day bringing the following information from below: -

"The enemy have made their appearance at Hog Island, and on yesterday proceeded up the river and compelled some small vessels to seek security by flight. At one time their movements indicated an intention to come some distance above the island, but finally, after coming to Swan's point, they dropped down again and anchored below the bend of the island—If they should have the rashness to attempt an inroad into the interior, we trust that we shall give them a red hot reception."

We take the liberty of suggesting to mariners and others the propriety of causing their vessels lying down the river to return, and all clearing out for ports below ought to be stopped.
